Spring has sprung, the birds are chirping this morning, the snow is melting fast, and blue sky is on the way. Spring is all about renewal. New Year’s might be the time to make resolutions but spring makes you smile a bit more, have a spring in your step, and anxiously await the first flowers to erupt from the ground.
Spring has sprung in the North Central Cascades
The North Central Cascades are still digging out from the winter snow. Though the temperatures have been in the low 50’s the past week there is still plenty of snow in the passes for some great skiing and snowboarding, back-country snowshoeing, and some cross-country skiing as well. Come on up and enjoy the last days of winter before that snow disappears for a few months.
Warmer temperatures mean that fresh fruit and produce is just around the corner. The valley is abuzz with activity and Leavenworth kicks it off with the Taste of Leavenworth
April 1-3rd. This community celebrates the pear because Leavenworth is one of the largest producers of pears in the world. Everything from pear drinks, main courses, desserts, and treats will be available all weekend long. Come on over and enjoy the pear and see how you can incorporate it into your kitchen this year.
Of course, don’t forget the Ale Fest!
Next to Octoberfest this has got to be a favorite of tourists. Ale Fest takes place April 22nd and 23rd in the Festhalle in Leavenworth. Experience not only local brews but many from all over the country. This event includes food booths, music, and dancing and is gaining notoriety quickly as a top event in the area. Ale Fest also raises money for the Nutcracker Museum
in Leavenworth so you can feel good about spending your money while enjoying some great brews with your friends.
Come on over to Leavenworth and celebrate spring with a little food, brew, and friends throughout the month of April. Make Pine River Ranch your little bit of paradise while you are here and enjoy a nice Eagle Creek Wine or Big E Ale beer in the evening as you relax in your room.
