Your Guide to the Best Trails and Routes Around Pine River Ranch

Leavenworth Hiking and Wenatchee Area Trails

Nason View Trail: Starts from the Kahler Glen Golf Course (1 mile from Pine River Ranch) and goes just above Nason Creek…look down at the Pine River Ranch from the trail.

Squirrel Run Trail: An easy rolling trip through mostly forested areas. In the winter this crosses the snowmobile trails often so make sure to use caution. (Snowmobile trails are marked with orange trailblazes)

Wenatchee National Forest: Consists of 2.2 million acres and approximately 40 percent is designated as Wilderness in seven Wilderness Areas. There are over 2,500 miles of recreational trails…be sure to pack a lunch!

Downtown WenatcheeOhme Gardens: If you are visiting in April-October plan an afternoon trip to wonder through the beautiful Ohme Gardens ($7.00 admission). There is nearly a mile of trails winding through lush foliage, towering cedar and firs and beautiful waterfalls and pools. Most people spend around an hour at the gardens before going into Downtown Wenatchee for lunch at a wonderful local eatery or great coffee house. Downtown Wenatchee also has some great trails at Riverfront Park. Open year round. (Take the River Crossing Pedestrian bridge at 1st St and N. Wenatchee Ave. into Riverfront Park.

Art Walk at the Sleeping Lady Mountain Retreat: The owner of The Sleeping Lady Resort, Harriet Bullitt has put together a great collection of pieces if you are looking for an afternoon visit and an easy stroll through the beautiful art gallery.

Chiwawa Sno Park: Offers some great skiing. (Look for blue diamond trailblazes.) The Sea & Ski Trail is about 5 miles & follows along the Wenatchee River.

Flying Loop Trail: Climbs 600 feet (for experiences skiers) and has views of Entiat Ridge, Chiwaukum Mountains and the Plain Valley.

The Leavenworth Winter Sports Club grooms 24 km of trails in Leavenworth. Visit us in the main house or call 509-548-5115 for more info. Trails start at the Leavenworth golf course, waterfront near downtown Leavenworth as well as the Skil Hill Trails and Icicle River Trail.

Ski Hill Trails: Wide trails with lots of loop options for different difficulties and scenery. You can see the Ski Hill lodge built in the 1930s by the YCC and also the Nordic ski jumps in the hillsides. This trail also passes the Summer Theater Venue where the Sound of Music plays.

Icicle River trail: An easy stroll along the Icicle river (about 3 ½ miles long but no rough terrain.) The trailhead starts about 15 miles up Icicle Canyon, a beautiful drive to get there. You can also grab a yummy lunch at O’Grady’s Deli on the way back after you’ve worked up an appetite!
