Overview of the Enchanted Valley in Washington

The Enchanted Valley in Washington is a part of the southwest quadrant of Olympic National Park and an outdoor wonderland for hikers from all over the world. During the spring, summer, and fall, visitors flock to the trails to experience jaw-dropping views of crystal lakes and glacier-worn granite cliffs while finding peace and tranquility in the beauty of nature.

The Enchanted Valley Hike

The hike to the Enchanted Valley is the perfect way to enjoy a fun-filled day hike near Leavenworth! The trail begins at the Graves Creek Trailhead and will lead you through lush temperate rainforests and deep glacial valleys.

Your adventure will start with a steady climb for approximately two miles before ascending into Pony Bridge. From here, you’ll cross over a moss-covered gorge and the Quinault River, both of which provide picture-perfect photo opportunities.

After another 6.7-miles, you’ll encounter O’Neil Creek followed by a steep climb to No Name Creek, which is located approximately eight miles into the hike. You’ll enjoy more dense forests and vast meadows as you make your way to the Quinault River Bridge. The bridge does tend to get a bit slick, so be sure you hold onto the single handrail as you cross.

The end of the bridge serves as the gateway into the Enchanted Valley, so have your cameras ready as this point! Once you enter the Enchanted Valley, you’ll be rewarded with spectacular scenery complete with waterfalls, glaciers, and the Enchanted Valley Chalet, which was closed in 2014 due to erosion from the river.

Feel free to explore and stop to take photos as you explore the valley! It truly is a one-of-a-kind experience that you can’t find anywhere else in the world.
