History of the Festival
The Leavenworth Autumn Leaf Festival celebrates the changing of the season and promotes tourism for the Upper Wenatchee River Valley. The Autumn Leaf Festival is the town’s longest running event. It originated in 1964, the same year the village adopted its famous Bavarian theme. Today, the Washington State Autumn Leaf Festival Association participates in parades and festival across the northwest as a founding member of the Northwest Hosting Association.
Things to Do at the Leavenworth Autumn Leaf Festival
Every September, admire the beauty of the autumn leaves in Downtown Leavenworth. For one weekend, the Autumn Leaf Festival brings live music, food, and fall-themed fun to town for visitors and locals alike. The Grand Parade is the festival’s main event and features spectacular floats, the Grand Marshall riding on a stagecoach, Bavarian dancers, and more. Be sure to grab a spot beside the street before the parade starts!
