History of Icicle Creek Center for the Arts

In 1955, the center was founded by entrepreneur and supporter of the arts, Harriet Bullitt. With the help of Wilfred Woods, publisher of “The Wenatchee World,” Bullitt focused her attention on the beautiful Cascade Mountains of Washington. She originally named the organization “Icicle Creek Music Center” and hosted the first annual Chamber Music Festival in the Chapel Theater in 1995.

As the annual event grew more and more popular each year, the development of a facility for the Icicle Creek Center for the Arts began. In 2013, the center we see today was complete. Currently, the center hosts more than 100 performances each year, attracting more than 15,000 spectators. The future continues to look bright for the center as they are seeking expansion.
