1. Apple Capital Loop Trail 

Located in nearby Wenatchee, the Apple Capital Loop Trail is the perfect spot to enjoy a leisurely stroll surrounded by breathtaking mountain views. The 10-mile paved trail also leads to some of the area’s most beautiful riverfront parks that are ideal for picnics, wildlife viewing, and recreation opportunities. 

2. The Enchantments 

True to its name, The Enchantments are one of nature’s most magnificent masterpieces. The 20-mile trail winds through terrain strewn with crystal lakes, glacier-worn granite cliffs, and many more awe-inspiring views. However, this trek is not for the faint of heart. With an elevation gain of over 4,400 feet, hikers find that keeping up their endurance can be a challenge. Be sure to take frequent breaks or stop to enjoy the jaw-dropping views that you’ll meet along the way. 

3. Icicle Gorge Trail 

Also known as the Icicle Gorge Nature Loop, the Icicle Gorge Trail in Leavenworth follows alongside the creek and through the forests. The 4-mile trail crosses over the gorge and through lush cedar and conifer forests before continuing through a swamp. Don’t forget your camera! The lookout points you’ll find are nearly postcard perfect. 

4. Eight Mile Lake Trail 

This impressive climb is ideal for a day trip! Despite its title, the trail is only seven miles long and winds uphill towards a lovely mountain pond. Eight Mile Lake is also a great place to enjoy a picnic, go fishing, or take a refreshing dip in the water. 

5. Lake Minotaur 

If you are looking for a challenge, the Lake Minotaur hike is for you! This trail showcases fantastic mountain views towards one of the most beautiful alpine lakes in the region. We promise the uphill climb well worth the sweat! Many hikers also find the wind-blasted rock at the top of the mountain is very similar to the salty cliffs found on the Greek coast. Once you reach the lake, you’re free to explore or enjoy a swim in the lake. 

6. Lake Stuart Trail 

Lake Stuart Trail is a nine-mile trek that’s recognized as one of the most scenic in the entire state of Washington! Hikers will be led by babbling brooks, wildflower meadows, lowland forests, and mountain overlooks until they reach a beautiful lake surrounded by granite peaks. It usually takes about six hours to complete, so it’s ideal for a day trip! 

7. Alpine Lakes Wilderness 

The Alpine Lake Wilderness is one of the best places to find a variety of hiking trails. This recreation area boasts 600 miles of trails across 47 trailheads. From beginner-level routes to day-long treks, you can find just about any type of trail here! 

8. Icicle Ridge Trail 

If you’ve never explored the Icicle Ridge Trail in Leavenworth, you’re missing out! While the entire trail is nearly 30 miles long, many hikers opt to take the shorter Icicle Ridge Loop hike. This 5.5-mile moderate round-trip journey takes you past scenic lookouts, fields of wildflowers, lush forests, and wide-open valleys. 

9. Pine River Ranch
