Each Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, Leavenworth celebrates winter’s bounty with the Bavarian Icefest! Visitors will be able to enjoy a wide array of winter activities including snow sculptures, ice carving, the popular snowmobile sled pull, and a nearly endless amount of games and activities. At night, be sure to stay for the grand fireworks display!
Taste of Leavenworth (April)
Did you know that Leavenworth is known for pears? Taste of Leavenworth is a great way to kickstart the spring season and enjoy culinary specials from Leavenworth’s finest restaurants and shops. Of course, you won’t want to miss the ‘pear’tacular selections that emphasize the bountiful spring harvest.
This popular annual event brings some of the region’s best craft beers directly to you! You’ll also be kept entertained throughout the day with live music, delicious food, and much more. It’s an “ale of a party” that you won’t soon forget! Over 20 microbrews will be available for tastings at the Leavenworth AleFest, so be sure to try them all!
Maifest is one of the spring’s most anticipated events and includes something for any traveler to enjoy. The Bavarian village of Leavenworth will be tapping into its German roots to bring you a full weekend of music, dancing, and fun! Of course, the main event is the traditional dancing around the Maifest pole.
Leavenworth Wine Walk (June and September)

Christmas Lighting Festival (December)
When you attend the Christmas Lighting Festival, you’ll have to pick your jaw up from the ground when you witness our Bavarian Village transform into a village of lights (over half a million of them to be exact). The yuletide event takes place each weekend in December and provides plenty of holiday cheer for visitors young and old. During this event, you can expect plenty of ways to enjoy the winter weather including sledding in the park, meetings with Santa, a holiday choir, and a traditional Gluhwein Tent that offers hot wine and cider.
