About the Icicle Ridge Trail
Are you looking to relax and reconnect with nature? A hike along the Icicle Ridge Trail may be just what you need to unplug. While the entire trail is 29.6 miles long, many visitors opt to take the shorter Icicle Ridge loop hike. This 5.5-mile moderate round-trip journey takes you past scenic lookouts, fields of wildflowers, lush forests, and wide-open valleys. Once you reach the large clearing, you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of Leavenworth, the Wenatchee River, and waterfalls racing down Tumwater Canyon. It is a truly spectacular sight to behold!
While many visitors opt to turn back at the clearing, it’s also possible to keep hiking. However, this should only be attempted by the most experienced hikers. The trail continues climbing along the ridge, eventually crossing the Fourth of July Creek. An array of challenging switchbacks will take you up to a burned forest. Once you’ve traversed 5.7 miles, you’ve finally reached Icicle Ridge! Take a left at the wooden sign and continue to the old Icicle Ridge Lookout site. Here, you’ll discover 360-degree views of Cashmere Mountain, Eightmile Mountain, Jack Ride, Mount Stuart, and more. The views from the top are well worth the challenging climb!
