Meet the Reindeer!
One of the most memorable stops on any family-friendly Leavenworth trip is the Leavenworth Reindeer Farm, located just outside town. This experience is open year-round, and it’s exactly as magical as it sounds. Kids can learn about reindeer up close, hear how the herd is cared for, and even see shedded antlers depending on the season. Plan to spend about 30 minutes to an hour here, depending on how curious your crew is, and get your tickets in advance as the farm sells out.

Ride the Alpine Coaster at Leavenworth Adventure Park
If your kids love a little boost of adrenaline, the Leavenworth Adventure Park is a must. The highlight is the Tumwater Twister Alpine Coaster, which winds through the trees offering views of the Cascade Mountains. Beyond the coaster, you’ll also find a rock wall and mining sluice that make this spot especially family-friendly.

- Coaster Rules: 1 or 2 riders per sled, ticket per rider, must be 54 inches tall and 3+ years old, max weight cannot exceed 375 lbs. in dry weather and 330 lbs. in wet conditions

Explore Downtown Leavenworth
Downtown Leavenworth feels like it was built for families. The festive, Bavarian architecture and cozy shop-lined sidewalks make it easy to walk and browse gift shops, bakeries, and candy stores that kids genuinely love. Pop into the Nutcracker Museum, which houses thousands of nutcrackers from around the world—there’s even a popular scavenger hunt to try while you’re there! When it’s time for a treat, grab some ice cream at Whistlepunk and let the kids enjoy it while you take in all downtown has to offer.
Let Them Play at Enchantment Park
Enchantment Park is one of the best spots for family-friendly Leavenworth fun. This spacious community park features a playground, pump track, and skate park, along with wide open areas where kids can run and play. From here, you can also wander onto nearby walking and biking trails that connect to the Wenatchee River and surrounding nature areas.
Just beyond the main park area, check out Blackbird Island Pond, a small, stocked fishing pond open to kids under 15. It’s a wonderful way to introduce younger anglers to fishing and adds a nice change of pace to a busy day of exploring the town.
Discover Nature & Science Nearby
For a quieter, educational stop, the Rocky Reach Discovery Center is worth the half-hour drive. Kids can learn about salmon, hydroelectric power, and local ecosystems through hands-on exhibits. It’s a nice balance to the more high-energy attractions and pairs well with a day focused on the outdoors.
