History of Boudreaux Cellars

The idea for Bordeaux wine in Leavenworth began with two men sitting on a porch during a warm summer evening. The winemaker, Rob Newson, and his good friend, the owner of Leonetti Cellar in Walla Walla, Washington, were disputing over the high price of a bottle of French Premier Cru. After their friendly spat, Rob decided to make his own bottle of wine and received advice and books from his friend.

After gaining all the knowledge he could about winemaking, he fermented his first batch right on his front porch. It wasn’t long before he began creating more and more wines in his home. He used an old nickname he had received years ago, Boudreaux, to name his winery, and the rest is history.
