January

Winter Karneval

Taking place on weekends in January, our Winter Karneval celebrates the season paying homage to the German tradition known as Fasching. Offering live entertainment, hearty winter food and drink, and live ice carving shows, each night of the festival ends with a spectacular fireworks display that lights up the night sky.

February

Snowshoe Strolls at the Hatchery

Fridays are fun days in February, due in part to the Snowshoe Strolls at the Hatchery, bringing travelers a greater appreciation of the landscape in Leavenworth. Naturalists from the Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery take hikers on a one mile stroll along the Crescent River and although you need to provide your own winter clothing, snowshoes, gaiters, and poles are provided to attendees.

March

St. Patrick’s Day Fun

We love a parade, and the St. Patrick’s Day parade is one of our favorites, offering colorful (and by colorful, we mean green!) floats, marching bands, and the possibility of leprechauns.

April

BANFF Mountain Film Festival World Tour @ Festhalle

This film festival celebrates the outdoors with a series of films that explore outdoor adventures, filmmaking, and the environment.

Here are the best spring events in Leavenworth, WA.

May

Maifest

Occurring every weekend in May, the Maifest celebrates spring, may flowers, music, and chainsaws. Wait, did we say chainsaws? Yes, we did, with the third week of Maifest providing a Live Chainsaw Carving, we can promise that your May visit will surpass your expectations!

June

Touratech Rally West

Considered the largest gathering of motorcycle enthusiasts in the country (and yes, that includes Sturgis), Touratech Rally West celebrates everything motorcycle and offers rides that will change the way you look at the world forevermore.

July

4th of July and Kinderfest

July is destined to be your favorite time to visit Leavenworth, with Kinderfest celebrating children by offering a festival that includes nature walks and bouncy houses.

August

Alive After 5 Snap and Shop Art Walk

Offering a few of our favorite things including shopping, walking, and art, the Alive after 5 Snap and Shop Art Walk, an event that is quite self-explanatory.

October

The Iron Goat Trail

Halloween is one of our favorite holidays and although there are no artificially generated haunted houses in the area, the Iron Goat Trail is reputed to be very haunted, making October the best time to visit!

November

Village of Lights, Christmastown

Offering visits with Santa Claus, colorful lights, and a variety of themed events that are sure to tire you out, as the mercury drops, your adventures will remain popular and fun.

December

Christmas Light Festival

COVID changed the way we do things, but the Christmas Light Festival deserves to have your undivided attention. Our Bavarian style town shines bright when decked out in its holiday attire.
