Christmas lighting in Leavenworth

Christmas lighting in Leavenworth is a long-time tradition in many households.  Whether they load up in the family truckster and make their way over a pass, hop on a train for a comfortable ride with food and friends, or decide to let someone else do the driving by taking the bus many people plan long in advance for this memorable trip.

Christmas lighting in Leavenworth--Activities at the GazeboThe Christmas lighting in Leavenworth kicked off this last weekend to a crowd favorite; SNOW and a lot of it.  Saturday was full of snow falling from the heavens from early in the morning until early Sunday morning.  This did make for some slow traffic into and around town but the scene around the gazebo was magical.  From the festive crowd to the delicious food being served around town, from the awesome performances from some of the high school, middle school, and college groups to the living nativity scenes everyone was on point.  The lights were lit up in spectacular fashion and the crowd cheered!

The question after the Christmas lighting is, Where do we stay?  Hopefully, your planning in advance has paid off by securing a room around town or on the outskirts.  Pine River Ranch is a great answer to this question for couples looking to enjoy the Christmas lighting but come back to the ultra privacy of their spacious suite and acreage to roam.  This weekend they also got to play in over a foot of fresh, dry snow around the ranch.

Some of our guests favorite activities while they are staying with us have included the following:

Dinner at some of the premier places in Leavenworth including Andreas KellerSouth, Visconti’s, Leavenworth Sausage Garten, Fresh Burger Cafe, and The Alley Cafe.  There are many other restaurants in town that offer great food for all types of appetites…you must try to get to them all!

Snowmobiling with all of the fresh snow.  Many trails are now open and you can check at the ranger stations for maps and directions.  You can rent snow machines at Leavenworth Snowmobile Rentals, get tips, and even a guide if that is what will make your trip successful.

Wine tasting around town.  One of Leavenworth’s oldest wineries and still family run is Eagle Creek Winery.  Located just outside of town they have their own vineyards and make a full complement of delicious wines.  Pine River Ranch has Eagle Creek wine in all of their suites and also uses them for our wedding parties.  They have a great tasting room in town at the very start of Front Street.  Look them up and tell them that Pine River Ranch sent you!

Reconnecting with your soulmate, partner, best friend.  Coming back from the hustle and bustle of the Christmas lighting ceremony to your own 400 square foot suite with a fire in the fireplace, popcorn in a bowl, hot chocolate in those beautiful mugs, and a movie on the screen is some of the best times for our guests.  The privacy of your suite and the quiet solitude of the Wenatchee National Forest is worth the short drive out of town.  Reward yourself with a soak in the jetted tub or just a quiet, relaxing nap on the pine bed.  Knowing that a fresh, homemade breakfast will be delivered to your door, no matter how deep the snow gets, will allow you to drift off to sleep quickly under the Comphy sheets and full duvet.
