Charming Country Wedding at Pine River Ranch | Family Fun | Teal + Lavender | Dessert Bar

We are so lucky to share another beautiful wedding with you shot by Saskia Mizushima! One of the things we constantly hear from photographers is that they could shoot a dozen weddings here at Pine River Ranch and not run out of places to shoot at, and Saskia is no exception.  The charming country details of Scott and Bri’s August Wedding were wonderful inspiration for the creative and unique photos and I am thrilled to share their big day with you!

Bri loved that she had cowboy boots on under her classy dress! Scott also wore a snap shirt and a Sword belt buckle under his very classy suit and tie!

The soft and whimsical floral bouquet from Safeway in Leavenworth is the perfect match for their style. Safeway Flowers are becoming a very highly recommended floral option from our past brides and grooms!

We always love to see a bride in cowboy boots!

A great guestbook idea! Scott and Bri had a Polaroid camera for guests to snap photos of themselves and write the happy couple a message in their scrapbook.

Inspiration for the wedding/approach to your wedding style:*  Bri shared that: I wanted a local destination wedding (where you could drive home afterwards if you wanted but provided a reason for my relatives to fly out). And that’s what we had. We stayed at Lake Wenatchee for three days. We hosted activities around town (wine tasting, rafting, putt putt golf, hiking, shopping in Leavenworth).  The bridal party stayed up the street at the Brown Family Farm and we had a spaghetti feed the night before the wedding for everyone that came into town early.  We hosted, I think fairly successfully, a really fun 3-day party!

The weather was perfect for their August Wedding! A beautiful day!

Bri and Scott work together and met several years ago with a slow courtship.  Once they got together “it was game on,” says Bri. “Scott has two kids so we became a family first, bought a house second, and got married last,” she shared.

Scott and Bri wrote their own vows to each other and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house!

I love how they were both all smiles, all day! You could tell how happy they were to be married!

Scott and Bri filled the mason jars with coffee and wrote personal messages to all their guests! This was one of Bri’s favorite details of their big day. Her Mom also made all the place settings by hand!

The toasts had everybody laughing, including Bri!
Yum!!! It doesn’t matter what time of the day I work on the blog posts, I always get hungry when it comes to the dessert time! I am very fond of the “Dessert Bar” idea and think it is always a big hit with the guests, especially when the dessert options look this good! Scott’s Mother helped bake some of the delicious desserts!Scott and Bri still had a traditional and beautiful wedding cake from Busy Bea’s Bakery to cut! And they were nice to each other! No cake sacrificed!
Their first dance as Mr. and Mrs. It looks like the night only got better from there! The dance floor was opened and guests danced the night away! We’ll leave the night with this! Congrats you two!

If you could tell a future bride one thing about the wedding planning or advice for the day of the wedding what would it be:  Go with your gut. There is always another option if the first one doesn’t quite work out.

Rustic Chic Barn Wedding, Pink Roses and Little Black Dresses

Welcome to Emily and Adam’s rustic chic October wedding. Thank you so much to Emily (and Adam) who provided me with some wonderful details about their big day!

The Pacific Northwest weather was absolutely perfect for their wedding day, and if you remember talented photographer Saskia Mizushima (from Tom and Jenny’s Tandem Bicycle Themed Wedding) you know how well she does at capturing that beautiful sunlight! In case you haven’t seen what I think of as her “signature shot” at Pine River Ranch feast your eyes on this yumminess:

Isn’t that lovely! I think the word “yummy” can describe a photo perfectly with that kind of lighting. I fell in love with Adam and Emily’s beautiful wedding from the first photo. The light pink flowers and little black dresses are the perfect idea of country chic.

How you Met: Adam and I were introduced by a mutual friends mom…Maureen.  Adam went to college with her son Chase and I have know Maureen since I was young growing up in MT.  She approached me once when I was home to tell me about this guy that I had to meet.  Meanwhile, she was giving the same story to Adam when he was out visiting in MT one summer.  Needless to say, Adam and I ended up eventually connecting in Seattle and loved spending time together and it progressed from there!

I loved the simplicity of the little black dress and thought the bridesmaids looked absolutely stunning as well! As for the groomsmen, the shoes did it for me. Perfect!

Inspiration for the wedding/approach to your wedding style: Our main theme going into the wedding was “no stress” and simple yet beautiful.  We wanted to have our friends and family enjoy the trip over from MT/Western WA and to be able to fully enjoy the party!!  It also was important to us to have our families in one place for the entire weekend.  Having grown up in MT I loved the idea of having the wedding at Pine River Ranch for the “rustic” but beautiful setting.  Adam still wanted to consider a destination wedding however, once we traveled to Leavenworth to tour the PRR we both fell in love!  The main approach to our wedding style was we wanted to keep it simple yet elegant and romantic.  We both focused a lot of our planning on the lighting (time of day for the ceremony and soft lighting inside the barn) to have good ambiance and simple details that were “us.”

Adam and Emily enjoyed some time before the ceremony to wonder about our 22 acre property and capture some great photos. I love the lighting, and they way they are looking at each other is absolute perfection. Pine River Ranch Weddings, Leavenworth WA (13)They incorporated the fall pumkins into their decor and the signs directing guests to the ceremony were perfect for a barn wedding.Pine River Ranch Weddings, Leavenworth WA (6)

Your favorite detail/decoration: We loved loved loved our home brews and tap/barrel that our good friends made special for us for our wedding!  I also loved all of the aisle decorations that we used later as center pieces for the tables.  My step mom also sewed a bunch of quilt blocks that we had people sign as our guest book.  She will put all the blocks together into a quilt that we will have forever!

Pine River Ranch Weddings, Leavenworth WA (5)The ceremony setting was gorgeous!! The shabby chic aisle runners with light pink roses smelled and looked wonderful. Pine River Ranch Weddings, Leavenworth WA (12)

Pine River Ranch Weddings, Leavenworth WA (11)So precious!

What was your favorite part of the day:
There were so many!!  I think my favorite part of the day was walking out behind the barn to my soon to be husband for the first look.  Adam says that his most favorite part of the day was standing together at the altar in the sun knowing that we were going to be married.  He said, “it was the most intense emotions I have ever felt”

Pine River Ranch Weddings, Leavenworth WA (9)The ceremony was beautiful, and after it was over Adam and Emily shared their first communion together. Pine River Ranch Weddings, Leavenworth WA (8)

Trick or Treat! Emily and Adam put an elegant spin on their Halloween themed candy bar
Now I can use the word “Yummy” to describe something other than lighting! Pine River Ranch Weddings, Leavenworth WA (7)After their first dance as husband and wife the party broke loose!

If you could tell a future bride one thing about the wedding planning or advice for the day of the wedding what would it be:  DON’T stress and don’t micromanage.  The biggest thing to remember is that at the end of it all you will still be married to your love!  Also, delegate tasks!  People love to help and often times just need to be asked.  Our families were amazing at listening to “our vision” for our day and really running with it during prep and set-up!!

Adam and Emily, I enjoyed seeing your wedding photos and wish you two the best of luck in a long and loving future together! We hope to see you soon for your anniversary!!
