                                                                 Rejuvenated Lodgepole Living Room

Rejuvenation is a theme this spring at Pine River Ranch.  Our two oldest suites, Ponderosa and Lodgepole, have received a total renovation.  We are excited for you to see the “new” rooms and for you to experience what they have to offer.

Rejuvenation in Ponderosa and Lodgepole

Ponderosa and Lodgepole started their existence in the mid-1940’s as the ranch hand house for the dairy farm.  The husband and wife team that lived there helped with the dairy maintenance and daily milking as well as with the inside chores of the house.  When the dairy was sold and became a Dude Ranch in the early 1950’s the ranch hand house was turned into the cookhouse for the kids that were at ranch.  The kids helped out in making, serving, and cleaning up the daily meals.

As Pine River Ranch was was progressing into a Bed and Breakfast the ranch hand house was changed into two suites.  These suites were named Ponderosa and Lodgepole because of the large stands of the different kinds of pine trees located next to the individual suites.  Each of these became very popular as an “out-of-the-house” option for the B&B.  These suites were around 450 square feet and included large soaker tubs, Nason Creek rock fireplaces, and tremendous views over the back portion of the property.

Today, the tubs that were so popular in the 1980’s have been replaced with large, walk-in, multi-head showers with glass enclosures, granite and marble kitchen and vanity tops, LED canned lighting throughout, flat-screen TV’s hung where you can enjoy them from the couch or the bed, radiant heat bathroom floors, and brand new windows and sliding doors for better views and access to the decks.  The original rock fireplaces still remain to take some chill off on those cool evenings but the heat and air-conditioning is supplied by new mini-split wall units in each suite.

Rejuvenation is always a good thing.  To change and renew is a process that always takes help, is sometimes hard, and definitely is worth it in the end.  Buildings, like each of us, have stories to tell and memories to hold but honoring those while feeling fresh and new is a certainly welcome.  I hope that we have done that with this renovation.

We would like to thank Jeff Unger Construction, First Choice Electric, A Brush Above Painting, and C&G Custom Plumbing for all the help and time getting these suites renovated.  It has taken a lot of time and expertise to uncover, renew, and make beautiful but using our local trades people has made the journey a lot less stressful.

Come out and enjoy the new suites, as they officially open this weekend, as you take your journey this year to rejuvenate, refresh, and renew yourself, your relationship with a significant other, or just want to spend some downtime away from the crowds.  Pine River Ranch has a great golf special going on currently with Kahler Glen and will have a great rafting special up later this week with Osprey Rafting.  Sunshine, warm temperatures, and some great spring time festivities in Leavenworth coming up make this a perfect time to reserve your suite today!
